Skincare tips for the warmer days
BeautyCan you believe it, winter is almost over and the last two days have been extremely hot. This means that it is time to change your moisturiser to a thinner lotion and lather on that SPF 30. This will give you added protection against the harsh rays of the sun. Here are a few tips to follow to maintain great looking skin.
Summer skincare is all about protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, as well as keeping it hydrated and free of excess oil. Here are some tips for summer skincare:
- Wear sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days. Sunscreen is the most important part of any skincare routine, but it’s especially important in the summer. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher that is broad-spectrum, which means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
- Avoid the sun during the hottest part of the day. The sun’s rays are strongest between 10am and 4pm, so it’s best to avoid being in the sun during this time. If you do have to be outside, wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes.
- Hydrate your skin regularly. Summer weather can be drying, so it’s important to drink plenty of water and use a hydrating moisturizer. Look for a moisturizer that is oil-free and non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores.
- Exfoliate regularly. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin looking fresh and radiant. Exfoliate once or twice a week with a gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant.
- Avoid harsh products. In the summer, it’s best to avoid using harsh products on your skin, such as astringents and scrubs. These products can strip your skin of its natural oils and make it more susceptible to damage.
- Listen to your skin. If your skin is feeling dry, oily, or irritated, adjust your skincare routine accordingly. There is no one-size-fits-all skincare routine, so it’s important to find what works best for your individual skin type.

- Morning:
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
- Apply a toner to help restore your skin’s pH balance.
- Apply a serum that addresses your specific skin concerns, such as hydration, anti-aging, or acne.
- Apply a moisturizer that is oil-free and non-comedogenic.
- Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
- Evening:
- Remove your makeup with a gentle makeup remover.
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
- Apply a toner to help restore your skin’s pH balance.
- Apply a serum that addresses your specific skin concerns.
- Apply a moisturizer that is oil-free and non-comedogenic.
