H&M Launch

The long awaited H&M store is scheduled to open in October 2015 at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.  The store will be one of the largest in the world with 2 floors of fashionable clothing for the whole family.

Today’s sneak preview at Hamilton House in Cape Town featured a collection for women that fuses modern eclectic with a classic twist.  Bold prints take centre stage in earthy, authentic tones of rust and paprika with an undertone of beige and green.  Silhouettes are playful with exaggerated curves and the collection sees the introduction of oversized shapes worn with neat and nipped pieces.  The H&M men’s range is all about personal style, with a collection of wearable pieces that create a  modern wardrobe of adventure and individuality.  There are a variety of looks from black and white to tailored pieces in sharp navy, black and white worn with understated sophistication.

 The winter range includes rollneck and turtleneck sweaters in various styles and colours.  Lurex knits are for day and night, while ribbed and zippered knits have sporty energy. Pants are either straight legged or wide, while ribbed-knit leggings are given an active look.  Textures are constrated, with the sheen of laminated wool on jackets and skirts, fake fur coats, matte wool tailoring and sequin blouses.  I love the zip-up coats in burgundy and rust red and the printed flared pantsuit is definately a must for the next season.  The key accessories for winter or the one’s I like were the moon boots, faux rollnecks and laminated bags.  The PERFECT accessory for this season is definately the knitted scarf which are so versatile and come is a variety of colours, besides being warming they are the ONLY piece needed around your neck .
