On the catwalks at recent fashion weeks, brands showcased a modern take on the retro floral print with stark black outlines, while clean white bases lend a fresh touch to the likes of Victoria Beckham’s abstracted pink blooms.

Ditsy florals inspire a notion of the springtime prairie this summer, on show in delicate repeat patterns. Classic flower motifs take on a modern freshness when applied to a clean white base. However whilst deciding on the print you’re most comfortable with, one has to remember there needs to be a common thread of sorts – even if it’s a base colour – that is carried through from the top layer right down to the bottom and into the accessories.
